Do you have a budget?

November 26, 2008

Do you have a budget? I find it strange that in the past I have had a budget for our dogs, horses and vehicles but never for our household. Now how strange is that? What can I say, I am OCD when it comes to our animals and our vehicles but when it comes to our household I need a paperbag next to me as I will hyperventilate just thinking about it!!

I don’t know why that is but I have made it my mission to get organized with our budget for the household (hold on I need to breath into my paper bag – okay I’m breathing), animals, and our vehicles/trailer for 2009 – I have given myself until December 15 to get everything set for the new year.

Wow, how powerful it is to put it down in writing! I’m starting to feel better about this already.

Beginning in January I will track our savings and money earned through rebates, survey’s and affiliates and logging them for you to see how we are doing. My hope is that this blog will help us to support our horses so that we can help more children enjoy horses who normally couldn’t afford to take lessons. I will not turn any child / adult away that can’t afford the riding lessons. We always have something that needs to be done around the barn.

Anyway, back to the budget – do you have a budget and if so would you care to share? I am looking for something easy, that does not take a rocket scientist all day to do and is easy enough that Bear will participate. If it is too difficult then we can forget him participating and if this is going to be successful then I need him to participate. Don’t get me wrong – he will support it and go along but I don’t want just that – I want him to ACTIVELY participate in this program.

Looking forward to finding out about how others budget and what works for you!
