After Christmas Shopping expedition

We started our morning by going to the barn and feeding the kids (horses) – it is misting so we can’t put the girls out. We will try and get them out tomorrow – hopefully this storm coming in tonight will go WAY Northeast of us so that we can get the kids out tomorrow for some Sun and exercise! After we fed the horses we headed on into town and James mentioned that Krispy Kreme’s sign was on – Hint – I’m going shopping with you – I want Krispy Kreme Donuts! So we stopped in and got a half dozen hot-n-fresh melt in your mouth (ZERO FAT and Calories) donuts and two chocolate milks (don’t tell Ezra my Trainer – Horrors). I handed the lady my debit card and this is where the trouble started. Their computer went down, they re-booted, but their computer would not run credit cards and wouldn’t you know it – I had no cash – the manager GAVE us our donuts and milk FREE because it was their problem that the register would not ring the CC. I tried to give them the items back but she insisted so we got it free!

I love my Bear (DH) more than anything – but ladies – never, I repeat, never take your husband with you shopping after Christmas! I lost him 2 times while shopping at Kohl’s. I had two $5.00 off $5.00 or more purchase coupons and I was on a mission. I told him to stay close – I wanted to check out the sock section and see if I could get him some great heavy winter boot socks and we found some from Columbia company in a pack 3 for 14.85 and we got them after discounts and our coupon for $4.95. I purchased these and we walked to the car and put them in the trunk and then walked back in after explaining to my husband that he would need to take his wallet with him so he could utilize the next coupon.

Now it was my turn to find what I was looking for which was a small credit card holder for all my gift cards/coupons/reward cards – and I found it – normally $15.00 but with discounts and coupon it was $1.00!!!

We will be going back again as I have a couple more of these $5.00 off coupons and I would like to get a couple more of these wallets for possible gifts or HMMMMM maybe a GIVEAWAY for the new year!

While looking for my wallet, I turned around, NO HUSBAND! Had to look all over the store until I found him, we returned back to the Purse section to look at deeply discounted purses (one of my weaknesses). I found a great Liz Claiborne for $42.00 but with my discounts and coupon – $11.70! I turned around to ask my husband what color he liked – GONE! I picked up ALL 3 purses and again went in search of my husband and once again found him wondering the shoe aisle!

Bless his heart – he tries but he is just not into this shopping and couponing – but he likes the money we save so he indulges me. HOWEVER, I was a nervous wreck looking all over the store for him not once but TWICE!

After braving Kohl’s we moved on over to Old Navy – I had two gift cards and a $10.00 off $50.00 purchase. I purchased 10 T-shirts that came to 56.75 and used my 10.00 off coupon which brought it down to 46.75 and then used the 10.00 off gift card and then put the balance against my $50.00 GC – I now have a balance of 14.25 left on the card. (I received these cards by participating in our Company’s Taste Testing program. We still have over $200.00 in Gift Cards and I am awaiting the recharge of my Walgreen’s card AND my $15.00 card from American Express.

All-in-all it was a nice day and we got some items that we needed with minimal OOP Expenses.

Let me know what deals you found and where!
