Getting ahead Frugal and Simple

May 22, 2009

Friday, I thought it would never get here!

Today is the day we recap our week of what we did frugal/simple over at Jennifer’s blog Getting Ahead. Here is what Bear and I did to be more Frugal/Simple on the Ranch:

Bear took his lunch all week.

I am still working on this – goal for next two weeks is 95% food from home.

Saved $600.00 buying a couch – check out how we did it here.

Planted our Tomatos and Peppers using top soil that a landscape company drops off at the barn, our golden compost material (horse you know what mixed with shavings and hay) and moldy bales of hay. Check out our work here.

Cashed in Swagbucks for $10.00 in Amazon.com Certificates! Swaggin pays!

Got my Free Sunscreen for Kit.

Got some Cheap Dog treats for the kids.

Purchased a couple of saddles at the auction that I can double my money once I clean them up on Ebay – check out that trip here – nothing like trying to load wild horses!

Have not gone shopping at Walgreens/CVS in two weeks – did I say that? It’s been great but I feel the need to get some free things and roll some ECB’s and Register Rewards.

It has been nice to get the truck back to the house and do some spring cleaning – we can load her up – go around the corner and put everything in the dumpster all at once. Spring/summer cleaning. Our attempt to minimize our stuff! Ever wonder how much stuff a car or truck can hold at one time without you actually realizing it? I’ll post that one later next week – amazing. Even the trailer gets a spring cleaning!

Well, that is about it for now – how did you do this week?

Looks like you had a good week Nance. I did my Spring cleaning a few weeks back but now we are getting ready for a garage sale so I am going to have to go through everything again!

    Have a great weekend.

Good job on all that you accomplished! I’m in the crazed get the yard in order mood. I think that I make more work for myself. And this was the first nice weekend that we could clean the 3 cars. So that took a while and then it rained. Oh well, it was done for a while.
