Well, as I type this I am sitting in a dark travel trailer listening to who can snore the loudest – Bear, Wyatt or Maestro. I think they are all tuckered and trying to out snore the other.
We left the Lou (St. Louis) around 2:30pm Friday afternoon and made it to Dad and Mom’s front doorstep at about 8:30 pm – not bad timing and Charlie did great. We stopped just across the State line for fuel. Trip was harder on Wyatt this time – he’s older and just can’t get his body situated like he used to – I just gave him some baby aspirin tonight to help witht he aches and pains.
We went to Goldies to eat today and had some delish Fried pickles! If you ever travel through Tulsa or Pryor Oklahoma I suggest you make it to a Goldies for a Char burger and Fried Pickles. We made it to the creek today and the water on my ankle was awesome! I’ll post pictures later this week when I move them from my camera. Just as beautiful as it always was and the water was very cold and refreshing in this heat. Nothing like Oklahoma Heat and humidity to get you wantin’ to go put your feet in the creek. We went to visit Bear’s mom, sisters, and brother at his sister Linda’s house. They have a beautiful creek bottom running through their property that is a great place to have a gatherin’.
Tomorrow, on our way out of town we will pick up our Cherry Pecan Shake from Braums. Another thing that you should not miss if you pass through OK and a town with a Braums Ice Cream!
When we got home from eating this evening at the Country Cottage, Bear let the boys out to go potty and run around. Well, Wyatt’s nose narrowed in on one of his favorite items – COW POOP!
And Fresh COW POOP! He got his face and shoulder before Bear realized what he was doing
and stopped him. If there is any COW POOP within Wyatt’s sniffer he is on it like Flys on you know what! He will smell it and then slide his face down it, lay down on it, and then roll and squish it all over his back and sides. Nasty dog, nasty and then we have to give him a bath which is no fun at all! Ever tried giving a 150 lb dog a bath that didn’t want one? I told Bear I was going to take him to the creek and wash him in the creek! Just kidding but the thought did cross my mind!
I am so homesick for Oklahoma – I don’t want to go back to St. Louis – on the other hand, I miss our kids terribly – Both Bear and I want to come home but it will take a little miracle to make that happen. I’m trying to figure out how I can swing moving back but the first opportunity we get we are taking it! I know Bear feels the same way that I do and it just hurts to have to say goodbye. I’m formulating a plan in my head and on the way home I will discuss with Bear and if he is in agreement then we will put the plan in motion. I have to keep telling my self that the plan is made in sand but the goal is set in stone and the goal is to move back home as quickly as possible.
We drove around just pointing out things that are new, old, and refurbished.
We will be leaving out about 2 – 2:30 tomorrow afternoon – we would like to make it home before dark. The drive is so long and it does get boring but maybe the discussion on the plan will help pass the time away.
I’ll try and get some pictures posted this week of our trip.
