Startin’ a tradition…..it’s just that easy

September 10, 2009

Bear and I have decided to start a tradition on Friday Nights.

We are so busy through the week that at times it amazes me that we even see each other as we come and go.

We have decided that starting this Friday would be Homemade Pizza (together – Lord help me) and Movie Night.

We belong to netflix and we will be able to pre-select our movies and watch a double feature while feasting on homemade pizza!

Now, I’ve been thinkin’ about this for quite sometime and I proposed it to him last night after we collapsed on the couch after haulin’ 80 bale of hay twice and unloading 120 bale of hay! He liked the idea and thought it would be great to give it a try.

So, this Friday will be our first stab at the Homemade Pizza night and I’ll let you know how it goes.

I’m a little nervous about the dough – but I have scrounged a couple of dough recipe’s off the internet that I will try.

Do you have a weekly family tradition that you look forward to every week with your family?

I really would like to know if you do and how you do it.

Den and I are trying to have a lunch date on Fridays if we can find the $. We never get to do anything because of our money situation but we are trying to find super cheap meals just to get to do something. We were trying to figure out the last time we went out on a date during the day and we couldn't even remember. It has to have been 5-6 years. Sad.

SonyaAnn, what about a picnic in the park? Pack a thermos of tea, coffee… and some cheese and crackers or sandwiches, go to the park lay a blanket down on the ground and just sit and talk while you picnic – Bear and I do this all the time when we get time OR if we are runnin' around like crazy I'll look at him and say it's time for a parknic – we'll run pick up sandwich fixin's or a cheap lunch meal like a 3 piece from Kentucky to share and we'll go to the park and sit down and have a snack! Try it – you will be amazed at what you can do for next to nothing! Anyone else have ideas?
