Happenings at the Ranch

Good news, looks like our transmission will be around 1500.00 instead of $3500.00! We will still have to put down $500.00 but we can finance the rest. Yes, I know, I don’t want us to go back into debt but right now this is my only option.

I’ve got my yuk yuk stuff back – can’t breathe, coughing (why is it the older you get the more you are afraid to cough because it causes other areas of your body to “leak”), sore throat and I could go on but it’s too depressing! I would love to curl up under the blankets and just go to sleep until everything is right again!

Bear went to the Doctor today – I have to right a list of things that I want Dr. Walden to discuss with him – he’s pretty stoic and won’t say anything unless I say it for him. We have to go have his bloodwork drawn on Saturday.

I’m changing our meal plan for today to Pork Roast – Bear brought one up from the freezer and asked if we could have that for today. I grabbed a couple of packets of french onion soup mix and poured it over the roast with a little beef broth – it is smelling absolutely delish and my tummy is grrowlingg as I type.

Wyatt is not doing to good with his arthritis, I’ve been giving him aspirin but I’m switching him to MSM to see if this will relieve some of his discomfort. Wyatt is going on 9 years of age and has had problems with his joints all his life. He is such a big dog with a high play drive that it caused joint problems. He has had two TPLO surgeries on both of his knees which left him with metal plates in both knees. It is ironic that it is his right front that is now giving him some issues. Maestro is continuing to show more signs of doggy alzheimer – he sometimes forgets where he is and who we are. He has started to sleep more and more.

I’m thinking of dying my hair again – I’m going red again (I think) – I think it will help to give me some more color in my face. We will see what happens, I have two Clairol’s that I need to use. Bear has offered to help – funny but I’m not too worried about him helping me.

I have to add that that roast is truly smelling good – I hope it tastes just as good!

I don’t like this daylight savings time – seems like I go to work when it is dark and I leave at dark. I’m not able to get out to see my horses as often as I would like.

Wow, just went to pick up the mail and I received a coupon(s) from AutoZone for 25% off wipers and we were going to get a set for the truck!

I’m still working on our budget for the year – this really helps me to prioritize areas and make plans to reach our goals. A huge goal will be our roof…..I’m hoping that we can make it through to spring and get it going then. I just entered Dave Ramsey’s giveaway for today – $2000.00, that could really come in handy! I could pay for the transmission, and put an additional $500.00 towards our Emergency Fund.

I’m craving Mosaic’s Butternut Squash soup – it is just soooo goooood and I can’t find a recipe anywhere close. It is Savory Sweet – they use madagascar vanilla in the recipe. I wish I could find a recipe that used vanilla – does anyone have a recipe like this? Please, share if you do!

Just heard from Bear – he’s waiting for the always tardy UPS driver to show up – this driver is supposed to be there by 4:45 but hardly ever gets there before 5:15 and Bear’s work complains about him getting 15 minutes of overtime – What is up with that? You should hear some of the stories he tells!

Work has just been hectic – it seems it’s this way about this time of year – everyone is rushing to get their discussion of contributions in for 2009 and critical operating tasks for 2010 and realize that there is information that they need from our sales database that I manage and they needed it last week and they are just now getting around to requesting. Now, what I would like to say is “an emergency on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part!” but I end up getting the information rounded up, formatted and sent over to them.

That’s what has been happenin’ at the Ranch this week – Tomorrow is Margaritaville FRIDAY so don’t forget to stop by and grab a Margarita to start the weekend off right!
