2009 Reflections – 2010 Looking Forward

January 1, 2010
By

Am I glad to see 2009 leave us behind…..Looking forward to a better 2010.

It seems 2009 was the year of losing beloved animals.

Charlie left us in March
Dino in October
Pie in October
Wyatt in December

I do have faith that where they are, I will be able to join them when it is my time. They are my angels watching over us.

My faith was strengthened with God – I still credit Allyssa over at Keeping the Kingdom First for helping me to understand how to Honor God in all aspects of my life from Finance to Forgiveness.

I’ve gained quite a few Blog friends across the blog range and cherish each and everyone of them.
I am getting even better at stockpiling and look forward to the pantry challenge that MoneySavingMom.com and LifeAsMom.com are putting on.

I’ve learned to Budget (yes, me) and set goals to achieve whether they be short term, mid-term, or long term and have held myself accountable. I learn something everyday from the blogs that I visit (check them out on the left side marque, or the on the right under blog list).

We have 8 horses (Zeke, Kit, Pete, Banks, Cody, Luke, JT, and Foxy) 2 Horse Angels Charlie & Dino, 4 (Thor, Maestro, Nikita, Duke) dogs and 1 Dog Angel Wyatt. which to James and I are our children. This requires us to be able to Pinch pennies, use coupons, and find other ways to Save money to be able to not only take care of ourselves but our kids as well. We have to make the Benji’s Scream in order to keep our family well fed, dressed, and happy!

There are several “deals” that are favorites but here are a few that stand out for me:

The Shop-N-Save Deal in February
Total Before Coupons: $55.00
Automatic $10.00 off: $45.00 (in-store promotion where if you purchase $50.00 or more you get $10.00 off automatically)
MFG Coupons applied: $3.30
Total: 41.70 (I’ll put this on my gift card and still have money left on it!)
Catalinas Back: $20.00 (in-store promotion)
I get $10.00 when I purchase 10 items from General Mills
I get $10.00 when I purchase $25.00 in products from Conagra!
Total for groceries – catalinas: $21.70! A savings of almost 40% using
Sale ads, coupons, and in store promotions.

The Shop-N-Save Deal in September – Savings of over 49% off my Grocery Bill!

Omelene University offering their $10.00 off coupons for points earned – I earned 14 $10.00 off coupons for Horse Feed!!! In addition, I received several coupons in the mail and for attending the Horse Owners Workshops. I also have a $15.00 Rebate I will be mailing in soon and 1 more $10.00 off coupon to use! I just filled my buy 8 get 2 free cards – with the buy 2 get 10.00 off coupon I had and the 2 free products I qualified for – I got over $60.00 of horse feed yesterday for $21.00! Yeah for us!

The Purina Dog Chow $4.00 off coupon and the $5.00 Target Gift Card back. (I was able to get 4 bags of dog food)

I could keep listing because each time I save money via coupons, register rewards, Extra Care Bucks, Sales, commissions from affiliates (not much but every lil’ bit counts!) or Rebates is my favorite at that time.

I look forward to 2010, I will be posting our 2010 Goals and Budget making myself more accountable because I will have all of you reading this blog so I have to be honest! I will be following all of my favorite blogs and hoping to add to my blog lists.
