Meal Plan Monday – Week 3 of the Pantry Challenge

I forgot to post our menu for last week – Okay, I had alot to deal with and I plum forgot – we did eat from home and it was a bit harder because we did not have a plan.

Here is our meal plan for this week:

Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: left overs
Pork Chops
Green Beans
Baked Potato

Breakfast: Cereal
Lunch: left overs
Egg Noodles with
Chicken Broth
Crescent Rolls

Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: left overs
Grilled Cheese Sammies
Creamed tomato soup

Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: Sandwiches w/soup
Vegetable Medley

Friday (Payday)
Breakfast: Oatmeal
Lunch: left overs
Syberg’s Restaurant w/coupon & GC

Breakfast: Butterbraid
Lunch: Left overs – sandwiches
Carrots, Potatos

Breakfast: Bacon/Eggs/Biscuits
Lunch: Left Overs
Roast Chicken
Green Beans

I reserve the right to make changes based on our work schedule but with careful planning this should work for us.

We did do some shopping last week for meat – ran out of chicken, hamburger and some minor staples – I’m still within budget which I will post first week of February.

We have actually saved a TON of $$ by forcing ourselves to eat at home – it’s hard when you aren’t getting home until 7-8pm at night (who wants to cook?).

Bear’s hours have changed so he is getting off at 3:30 instead of 6PM at night and it makes a world of difference to walk in the door at 5pm!

    Great job on eating at home!!

    I often wonder how my mother did it with working and the 3 kids. We always ate at home. There was no drive thru down the block!

    I am making an attempt to do it also. Except on Sunday. I'm so busy at church with the piano playing that I do not have time to cook a meal for us when we get home from morning services. I usually have to be back at church in about 3 hours so I find picking something up is much easier.

    I think that posting what you are eating will help keep your food budget under control. I'm trying to rework our monthly grocery list with more healthy meals. It is a huge undertaking to rewrite 30 meals and still keep it under budget. But when I need dinner ideas, I'm going to look up what you have had. See you are helping more than yourself!
