A better baked potato – Raging Bear Ranch Style

I love baked potato’s baked in the oven, not nuked in the microwave. I’ve also found that Yukon Golds are delicious baked in the oven. We have also discovered that by seasoning the potato before baking makes it even better than just wrapping a potato in aluminum foil and baking it “nekid” (naked).

Here is how we bake our potato’s in the oven:

1. Preheat (very important to preheat) your oven to 425 degrees

2. I slice the potatos into medallions. Once I have the potato sliced I put just a little butter across the top (it’s to help hold the seasoning on top of the potato) and then sprinkle the seasoning across the potato. The seasoning I’m using is from Soulard Market’s spice store – I bought a new one called Garden Seasoning (no salt added) and it is AWESOME!

3. Wrap it in aluminum foil (be sure to save your aluminum foil for recycle bin). It will take about 45 – 60 minutes to bake.

4. Once you have taken the potato out of the oven, let it “rest” for about 5 minutes – this will allow it to finish cooking. When you open the aluminum foil up please be cautious – steam will come out of the aluminum foil. Oh Yeah Baby, look at that baked potato! I sprinkle just a small pinch of Sea Salt on the potato when it comes out of the oven.

5. Fix a nice glass of iced tea, put the potato in a bowl and SAVOR the FLAVOR!
