3 Bumps or 4 Bumps?

November 30, 2010

Bell peppers are available in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes.  Bell Peppers are a great source of Vitamin A & C and are also known as the sweet pepper as they have a recessive gene that eliminates the Capsaisin which is what gives peppers their “Heat”.

Another thing is that the number of Bumps on the bottom of a Bell Pepper dictate how you should use them.

Bell peppers with three bumps on the bottom tend to be sweeter while Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are better and firmer for cooking!

Did you know this?  I didn’t, so the next time I go to the farmers market, I’ll be sure to get my bell peppers with both 3 bumps and 4!

We use our Bell Peppers for pizzas, omelets, salads, and stuffed peppers.

What do you use Bell Peppers in?
